M. K. Nolte

Welcome

Welcome to the website of M.K. Nolte.

Our Christian bookstores are filled to the brim with all kinds of fiction and feel-good stories.  But if we take a long, hard look at them, we see a lack of emphasis on holiness and self-sacrifice in much of what we read, fiction-wise.  My goal is to provide stories that bring to life characters in real situations, where tragedy does strike and people fail, but God's grace and mercy shines through it all.

One pet peeve of mine is in the Christian romance genre in particular.  I'm a die-hard romantic.  I admit it.  Give me a strong, Christian male character with integrity and a deep drive to preserve his and his lady-love's purity, and I melt.  But one trend I see going more and more in the Christian market is that of no-holds-barred remarriage after divorce.  The churches may have given up the fight in presenting scriptural truth in this area, but I don't think we all need to follow our pastors and elders in this trend!  We must fight the good fight for our families and for the sanctity of marriage.

My aim is to provide stories that reaffirm the permanence of marriage and highlight God's awesome ability to restore even that which our fleshly eyes may see as "hopeless" or "dead".

In this day and age, we need that hope and reminder.

I thank you for visiting my site.  Be sure to check back often for new stories or visit my blog.

My Works

Currently in progress:

"Restoration"

Emily has given up hope.  After losing her husband due to her own sinful failing, she finds it hard to forgive herself or to accept that God can forgive her.  She lost it all - husband and a rich relationship with God - in a moment's weakness, and now is helpless to find her way through the resulting quagmire.

But God is bigger than Emily thinks.  With the intervention of one spunky senior from Emily's church and a group of other hurting women, Emily will find that her God is able to do all things, even heal a broken heart...and family.
